Youth Speak has a strong network of volunteers who are actively working to make a difference in their communities.
Osama is 29 years old and is from Rojava, Syria. He got involved with Youth Speak after his friend sent him a registration form for a workshop. He has participated in the ‘How to Build Community’ program and was a ‘think group’ team leader to spread awareness about education. He also participated in ‘Cultural Day’ and volunteered for one month to teach children in workshops.
Kajeen is 28 years old and is from Duhok. She has been involved with Youth Speak since 2018 when she joined an online session on peacebuilding. She became an active volunteer with Youth Speak, participating in many activities like hand crafting, cleaning campaigns, “How to Build Community,” and received an opportunity to conduct participatory action research. She then joined a podcast group and became an instructor.
Souad is 24 years old and Syrian Iraqi, and has been actively involved with Youth Speak since June 2022, contributing to its mission of fostering inclusive dialogue, building collaborative communities, and empowering young people. As a participant and facilitator of ‘How to Build Community,’ Souad has helped design and lead sessions on community building and youth empowerment. She has volunteered in and led multiple initiatives focused on community service, youth development, and civic engagement. Currently, she serves as a community outreach researcher, bringing her passion for cultural identity, peacebuilding, and inclusion into her work. Through her ongoing contributions, whether in workshops, outreach efforts, or research, Souad continues to help create meaningful, youth-driven impact across the region.
